Frequently Asked Questions

Everything travelers ask us before booking an Egypt tour, Nile cruise, or a combined journey to Jordan, the Emirates, or Turkey.

Do I need a visa to visit Egypt?

Most nationalities can get an Egypt visa on arrival at Cairo airport (about USD 25) or apply online in advance through the official e-Visa portal. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your arrival date. We confirm the latest requirements for your nationality when you book.

When is the best time to visit Egypt?

October to April is the most comfortable season, with warm days and cool evenings — ideal for the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and Nile cruises. Summer (June to August) is hot but quieter and better priced, and the Red Sea coast is pleasant year-round.

How do I book a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan?

Choose one of our Nile cruise packages — classic 4- or 7-night cruises or a traditional dahabiya sailing boat — and tell us your dates. We confirm the ship, cabin category, guided temple visits at Edfu, Kom Ombo, Karnak, and Philae, and all transfers. Cruises run weekly in both directions.

Is Egypt safe for tourists?

Yes — millions of travelers visit Egypt every year, and tourist areas are well protected. All our tours are private, with licensed Egyptologist guides and professional drivers, and our Cairo team is reachable 24/7 throughout your trip.

What is included in your tour prices?

Our tours typically include accommodation, private air-conditioned transfers, licensed Egyptologist guides, entrance fees to the listed sites, the meals shown in each itinerary, and bottled water on the road. International flights and personal extras are excluded — every tour page lists its exact inclusions.

How do payments and cancellations work?

You can reserve online through our secure booking system or arrange payment with our team directly. Cancellation terms depend on the season and the services booked — see the Terms & Conditions page and your booking confirmation for the exact policy that applies to your trip.

Can I combine Egypt with Jordan in one trip?

Absolutely — our Egypt & Jordan tour pairs Cairo and the Pyramids with Petra and the Dead Sea in one seamless 7-day route, including flights between the two countries, and we can extend it with a Nile cruise or Wadi Rum nights on request.

Do you arrange trips to Dubai or Turkey?

Yes. Alongside Egypt and Jordan, we design tailor-made trips to the Emirates — Dubai city stays, desert safaris, and Abu Dhabi day tours — and to Turkey, from Istanbul's old city to Cappadocia and the turquoise coast. Contact us with your dates for a custom itinerary.

Are your tours private or group tours?

All Sokar Travel itineraries are private by default — your own guide, vehicle, and pace, starting on any date you choose. We happily tailor trips for couples, families with children, and small groups of friends.
