Tour Plan

The Unfinished Obelisk and the Ancient Quarries

Begin with private morning collection, ideally around 08:00 AM. Visit Aswan northern granite quarries, where the pharaohs sourced stone for statues, colossi and obelisks. Walk beside the immense Unfinished Obelisk commissioned by Hatshepsut, and learn how a fissure in the granite froze this extraordinary project in time.

The Aswan High Dam

Continue south to the Aswan High Dam, the crown jewel of modern Egyptian infrastructure. From the upper observation deck, your guide will explain how the dam controlled the Nile floods, generated electricity and created Lake Nasser, while also pointing out the Lotus-shaped Soviet-Egyptian Friendship Monument.

Private Boat to Philae Temple

A short drive brings you to the Shallal jetty, where you board a private chartered motorboat for a pleasant crossing to Agilkia Island. This avoids the rush of public boat queues and gives you a calmer arrival at one of Aswan most romantic archaeological sites.

The Sanctuary of Isis and VIP Return

Explore Philae Temple, the final great temple built in the classical Egyptian style and dedicated to Isis. Walk through its pylons, hypostyle halls and riverfront terraces, view Trajan Kiosk, and hear the story of the UNESCO rescue operation that relocated the temple stone by stone. After free time, return by private boat and vehicle to your hotel, cruise ship or Aswan Airport.
